Services Available
All the doctors provide General Medical Services. Some of the services below are provided by our practice nurses. Please ask the receptionist when you book who would be the most appropriate health professional to see.
Maternity Services
Community midwives and doctors provide both antenatal and postnatal care. Appointments with GP’s are provided within normal surgery sessions. Attached Community Midwives hold ante-natal clinics on three afternoons each week {presently Monday and Wednesday}. The practice does not feel able to support home confinement. Individual cases may be discussed in advance with the community midwife.
Contraception and Sexual Health
Comprehensive contraceptive advice and counselling is provided within normal surgery sessions by doctors and nurses. We also have sexual health clinics running at the practice and other local practices in the area. Please be aware the sexual health clinics are not able to give contraceptive advice and you will need to book a routine appointment with the Practice Nurse or your GP.
Immunisation
Routine immunisations for children and adults are available and encouraged by the practice. Childhood immunisations take place in the weekly Immunisation Clinic held by the Health Visitors on Wednesday 1.30pm to 3pm.
Child Health Development Assessments
Doctors perform routine 6-week developmental checks. Subsequent examinations at 7, 20 and 36 months are carried out by your Health Visitor.
